The Three Amigos Strike Again!

Hey hey~

I've been wanting to write about this for a while but I've held out until I received the appropriate photos to support my story (many thanks to Azz for sending these through!)

Once of the highlights of my SnA up to Brisbane last month was the Mexican Night thrown by my lovely amigos and partners in crime, Azz and James.

It was a fun filled night with nachos galore, festive music, jose, and did I mention sombreros?

Many thanks to my two of my favourite people in the world - I don't care what anyone else thinks, we will truly have the best (and not to mention the most fun) ideas room ever when we grow up!

A Time of Learning

Hey hey~

These last couple of weeks have been a bit weird for a many reasons. I'm leaving for Poland on Wednesday for three weeks to attend AIESEC Internatonal Congress. It's exciting because it is the biggest international conference of the year and it will be my first time travelling to Europe. I guess I am also anxious however because there is still much to do before I leave and the thought of being away for three weeks and coming back to what will be an intense time of catch up and implementation before September Presidents' Meeting is a bit daunting to say the least. So much has happened and is happening so quickly that it's hard to keep up with it all. Not to worry though, in the end I know I will be able to handle it all ^__^

However, I guess though I wouldn't be who I am if I didn't stop and reflect upon all that I have learnt over the last little while in preparation for the busy weeks ahead:
  1. It is possible to still wake up in early in the morning and be happy about the day ahead no matter how much you need to get done in such a short period of time.
  2. "Don't say you don't have enough time. You have exactly the same number of hours per day that were given to Helen Keller, Pasteur, Michelangelo, Mother Teresa, Leonardo da Vinci, Thomas Jefferson, and Albert Einstein." - H. Jackson Brown
  3. No one likes getting played. I still dislike the negative side of politics.
  4. Selflessness is one of the most admirable things in the world.
  5. Being surrounded by a amazing individuals in a team really does make you want to strive for more and work harder.
  6. Sometimes you have to let people make mistakes by themselves and you have to accept that no advice in the world can change their mind - you just have to be there to support them later if they fall.
  7. Art is about what you feel, not necessarily what you think.
  8. A lot can happen in 48 hours to make you feel closer to someone, or, in some cases, further away.
  9. Leadership is about supporting your team in their time of need.
  10. Cinnamon, Gucci Envy and chai lattes are my new found things that tickle my senses.

The International Whiskey Experience

Hey hey~

On Wednesday night, the MC House (Ruth, Martin, Michael, Ausra and myself) decided to try our luck at a free whiskey tasting event. We travelled to 3 different countries, Ireland, Scotland and the USA, trying out six different types of whiskey. Together combined with the free pre-tasting and post-tasting drinks and cheese it was a really enjoyable evening.

I entered the event knowing nothing about this type of alcohol at all, and even though I would hardly consider myself an expert now, I do remember the four things you are meant to evaluate when drinking whiskey: colour, nose, taste and finish!

Thanks MC House for a fun night out!
